If you can’t decide if you are in need of a salty or sweet snack, then try these Salty Dried Fruit Cookies. There are only 15 cookies in this recipe, so consider doubling the recipe. Everyone will want some. Ingredients include muscovado sugar or dark brown sugar, softened unsalted butter, vegetable shortening, egg, vanilla, self rising flour, finely chopped dry salted fruit, and vegetable oil. They are a delectable delight.

- Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius.
- Beat the sugar, butter, shortening, egg, and vanilla together. Add the flour and the fruit. Mix.
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper and place balls of dough approximately 1 teaspoon in size, onto the baking sheet.
- Grease the bottom of a heavy drinking glass with vegetable oil, dip into the extra mascabado sugar, and flatten each cookie.
- Bake for 10 minutes, until golden around the edges. Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
