  • 2 slices rye bread
  • butter
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 white onion
  • ground red pepper
  • salt
  • fresh chives
  • mint leaves
  • arugula

Directions

  1. Wash the tomato and cut it into 1/2-centimeter slices.
  2. Cut the onion into rounds.
  3. Place the bread slices on a plate, spread the butter on the slices, add the tomato slices and season lightly with salt.

I followed this recipe exactly as it stated, aside from switching from white onions to red. I really liked this recipe, as it was buttery and salty. It had a nice onion taste with lots of juice from the tomato. I plan to use this recipe again and rate it at 4 stars.
