Description

Despite taking 40 minutes this is a simple dish. The onions bring flavor to the dish when combined with the chicken broth. Cooked rice brings texture to the dish while the food coloring adds a beautiful color. Not only is the flavor tremendous but the presentation is breathtaking. Great for an Easter treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 150 grams rice
  • salt
  • 500 milliliters chicken broth
  • food coloring (optional)
  • 1 crust (Torta del Casar cheese, hollowed out)

Directions

  1. 1Cook the finely chopped onion.
  2. 2Once cooked, add the rice and continue to cook for a minute.
  3. 3Add a pinch of salt, being careful since the cheese is very flavorful.
  4. 4Slowly pour the broth in. Add the food coloring at this stage if desired.
  5. 5Once the rice is ready, place it in the hollowed out crust of the cheese. The intention is to give the crust another use once the cheese is finished. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving so the heat will melt the cheese that was left in the crust and the flavors mix.
