Ingredients

  • 250 grams ricotta cheese
  • 150 grams flour
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 lemon
  • salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 100 grams chocolate chips
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Combine the ricotta cheese, flour, sugar, eggs, grated lemon peel, a pinch of salt, baking powder, and the vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and uniform in consistency.
  2. Add the chocolate chips.
  3. Bring the oil in the fryer to 180C.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the fryer.
  5. Drain the fritters once they have puffed and have become golden in color and place them on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
  6. Serve hot sprinkled with powdered sugar.
