Change up your rice. Add a hint of Asian cooking and surprise your family. This makes for an intimate, romantic meal when eaten by candle-light. The fish has a nice smooth texture and the rice is soft.


  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 shallot
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 pepper
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 180 grams short grain rice
  • 700 milliliters fish stock
  • turmeric
  • 6 monkfish
  • 10 jumbo shrimp

    1. Add the oil to a skillet on medium heat. Add the shallot, bell peppers, and choricero pepper. Saute for 5 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.
    2. Add the tomato sauce and the rice. Cook for a couple of minutes. Add the fish stock and stir well. Bring to a boil.
    3. Simmer for 18 minutes and add a pinch of turmeric.
    4. With 5 minutes to go, add the fish and shrimp. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
