This American dish has the elements of both a rich savory flavor with a sweet after taste. The ribs are nice and juicy and compliment the soft rice. This is a great main coarse for a 4th of July party.

Ingredients

  • 300 grams ribs
  • 1 onion (finely diced)
  • 1 garlic clove (finely diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (finely diced)
  • 400 grams rice
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • beef stock
  • saffron (powdered, you can substitute ground turmeric)

Directions

  1. In a wide, shallow skillet, fry the ribs and then set them aside.
  2. In the same skillet, saute the finely diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper.
  3. Add the rice and a tablespoon of paprika.
  4. Mix well and add the stock. Remember, add 2 parts stock to 1 part water.
  5. Add a pinch of powdered saffron for a little color.
  6. Cook 18 minutes on the cooktop or 25 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 degrees Celsius.

The ribs for this recipe turned out nice and juicy with lots of robust flavors exploding with each bite. The rice remained nice and fluffy and complemented the ribs very well. Giving this recipe 5 stars all the way and cannot wait to make it again.
