Homemade refried beans are so much better than the store bought kind. I make bean and cheese burritos with them and serve them as a side dish to most of my Mexican dishes. They taste so good with melted Monterey jack cheese on top of them. When you are cooking the beans, don't add any salt to them until they are finished. If you add salt to soon, it make the beans seize up, and they will take twice as long to finish cooking. Some people like to add vinegar to their beans to make the cooking time reduced. Only do that if you don't mind a change in the flavor.
