  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (for sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 inches fresh ginger
  • 1 onion (small)
  • 1 carrot (small)
  • 1/4 pound green beans
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil (for chicken)

    Directions

    1. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes. Combine chicken, salt, pepper, sherry, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Set aside to marinate.
    2. Combine chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, fish sauce, sugar, and pepper together in a small bowl. Set sauce ingredients aside. In another small bowl, stir the cornstarch together with water; set aside.
    3. Scrape ginger with a spoon to peel, then mince; set aside. Chop onion and thinly slice carrot. Trim stems from green beans and cut into 1-inch lengths.
