Ingredients

  • 250 grams quark
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoons port wine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 125 grams sugar
  • 80 grams all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • vegetable oil
  • powdered sugar

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cheese, egg, sugar, vanilla, and wine. Mix well.
  2. Add the flour and baking powder to te cheese mixture and mix well.
  3. Add oil to a deep fryer or skillet and heat to a temperature of 180 degrees Celsius.
  4. Use a teaspoon to drop the batter into the oil.
  5. Cook until the fritters are golden brown in color and drain them on paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
  6. Serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.

I never thought that fritters could get any better than the ones I got in a restaurant However, after discovering this recipe I now know how wrong I was. These cheesy and delicious fritter are better than anything a restaurant could ever serve. I will be making my own 5 star fritters from here on out.
