  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon ground cloves
  • 2 cups dark brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 cup shortening (palm, Spectrum Organics, room temperature)
  • 3 cups pumpkin puree (chilled)
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed meal
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • 1 teaspoon oil (I used grape seed)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (I use Nielsen Massey)
