  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 2 cans sardines (marinated portuguese, with the bones removed)
  • 1 egg (for brushing)

Directions

  1. Cut the puff pastry into small squares.
  2. Pour the marinated sardines on each square.
  3. Cover with another piece of dough and pinch the edges to seal.
  4. Whisk an egg and brush each square with the egg.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes.

With just three ingredients, this is my new favorite appetizer to make for parties. It is so easy and so delicious. People who claim to not like sardines will try these because they are in such a tempting little package. The only thing that would make these better is to add some chopped olives as it is a great flavor combined with sardines.
