Make this incredible appetizer for your friends. This recipe for Provolone with Piquillo Peppers combines the creamy flavor of grilled provolone with the fresh flavors of oregano and piquillo peppers. Seared in a pan, the provolone developes a light crunchy crust on the outside and a melty center. The piquillo peppers can also be subbed with roasted bell peppers or your favorite pepper. Ready in just 20 minutes, this delicious appetizer is a must try.

Ingredients

  • provolone cheese (3 cm thick)
  • fresh oregano (minced)
  • ground black pepper
  • 4 peppers (piquillo, seeded and sliced, may be substituted with charred red bell peppers)

Directions

  2. Remove from the skillet using a spatula.
  3. Plate, sprinkle oregano and black pepper on top and add the Piquillo pepper slices.

I fell in love with this recipe the second that I tried it. Not only was it quick and easy to make, it tasted outstanding. I used three different colors of peppers to make it more colorful and they provided a nice crunch. The provolone cheese provided the gooey goodness that masked the entire dish. I will be making this 5 star recipe again.
