  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 sausages
  • mustard
  • lettuce
  • pickles
  • mayonnaise
  • 2 slices cheese

Directions

  1. Toast the bread on both sides and spread with mayonnaise.
  2. Grill the sausages, blotting the excess oil with a paper towel. Remove from heat, place the cheese over the sausages, and set aside until the cheese is melted.
  3. Place the lettuce, pickles, sausage, and cheese on 2 slices of bread and top with a little mustard. Cover with the other slices of bread and serve.

This sandwich works well with all sausages. I prefer to use a spicy chicken artichoke sausage and add some kale in place of lettuce to my sandwich. I usually serve this with fresh baked rolls from the bakery and not on potato bread, but either way it’s a great recipe to keep on hand.
