An easy preparation for pork that is hearty and filling. Slice your pork steaks thin for added flavor and tenderness. The onion sauce permeates the meat during the cooking process leaving you with a flavorful main dish.
- olive oil (to taste)
- 1 onion (large)
- 3 garlic cloves
- 3 parsley sprigs
- 10 pork steaks (thinly sliced)
- salt (to taste)
- 1/2 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 glass white wine
- In a saucepan with a wide base, heat the olive oil, and add the sliced onion, chopped garlic, and parsley sprigs. Cook on medium heat. When the olive oil starts to sizzle, distribute the pork steaks over the onion (it doesn't matter if some overlap), season with salt, cover with the tomatoes, and sprinkle with wine. Cover the pan, and let simmer. After about 10 minutes, uncover, and baste the pork steaks in the sauce.
- Cover again, and cook for another 10 to 15 minutes. Do not allow the sauce to dry out.
- During the last 5 minutes, check whether you need to add a little water or wine.

Simple but great tasting recipe that only requires one pan to cook the entire dish which is always a plus. Everything cooking together at one time is great for both flavor, and time when making other sides. Make sure to keep checking on the dish when cooking. Don't be afraid to add a little more wine or water to keep everything covered. The pork should turn out tender and juicy.
