Nice complex flavor profile; too bad the texture was like pencil erasers due to boiling.

Deceptively easy, the kids loved it. Since it is already sweet, I substituted rice vinegar for the sake. I cooked it a bit longer to infuse the flavors and soften up the pork, just be careful you don’t let it over boil, it won’t ruin the dish but it will leave a sticky mess on the stove. This should do well in the Instant Pot.

I didn’t use any alcohol but it tasted great. Drizzled honey in with the sesame seeds for some more sweetness.

I have made this recipe several times now and it's delicious; the whole family likes it! I follow the recipe exactly except at the very end; before adding the sesame seeds, I drizzle 1T of honey on the meat and stir. It adds just the right amount of "stickiness."
