  • 1 pound pork tenderloin (or ground pork)
  • 1 1/2 cups potatoes (peeled and cut into cubes)
  • 1 1/2 cups rutabaga (peeled and cut into cubes)
  • 1 large onion (chopped)
  • 3 medium carrots (peeled and cut into cubes)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 14 puff pastry shells (or sheets)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon water

    Directions

    1. Filling: Pulse pork in a food processor 5 times. Add potatoes, rutabaga, chopped onion, carrot, salt, and pepper.
    2. Pulse 5 times, then scrape sides with spatula. Pulse 4 more times or until mixture is evenly mixed. If using ground pork, pulse all ingredients together.
    3. Pasties: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with foil.
