Polenta with Porcini Mushrooms and Black Truffle Cream

Description

For an indulgent side dish for a dinner party, this recipe fits the bill. Polenta is easy to prepare as long as you stir frequently (and watch out for those bubbles). Here the polenta is enriched with black truffle cream, heavy cream, and fontina cheese. Look for the truffle cream at gourmet food stores (or online). You could substitute truffle oil (sold at many supermarkets) and salted butter if desired.

Ingredients

  • 350 grams polenta (with porcini mushrooms)
  • 40 grams cream (black truffle butter)
  • 150 grams fontina cheese
  • 100 milliliters heavy cream
  • parmesan cheese (grated)

Directions

  1. Prepare the polenta according to the instructions on the package.
  2. In the meantime, cut the Fontina cheese into cubes.
  3. As soon as the polenta is cooked, add the black truffle butter cream, heavy cream, Fontina, and parmesan cheese.
  4. Serve the polenta hot with more grated cheese sprinkled on top.
