This quick and easy, yet delectable recipe for Poblano, Onion, and Sausage Pizza takes a mere 15 minutes to prepare and is packed with gooey goodness. Ingredients include panini, pita bread or flour tortillas, sausages, sliced onions, roasted poblano chile peppers, shredded mozzarella cheese, pecorino romano cheese, manchego cheese, and parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

  • 3 flour tortillas (Panini, or pita bread)
  • 3 sausages
  • 1/2 onion (sliced)
  • 1 chile pepper (Poblano, roasted, peeled, and cut into strips)
  • mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • pecorino romano cheese
  • manchego cheese
  • manchego cheese
  • parmesan cheese
  • parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
  2. Fry the onion and the sausage in a skillet on medium heat. Once you see that the sausages are completely cooked, remove everything from the pan and cut the sausage into slices.
  3. Place the tortillas or bread on a baking sheet and add the onions, sausages, peppers, and cheeses.
  4. Bake the pizzas for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve hot.

The onions, mushrooms and cheese work so well together in this dish. I can’t believe the sensational flavors the cheeses give. They are an enhancement to this pizza. I had problems finding the manchego cheese, but you can use Asiago instead. Manchego can be hard to find, as it is made from sheep’s milk in Spain. However, if you can locate this cheese, it adds a whole other element to the dish.
