  • 1 kilogram plums (peeled, halved and pitted)
  • 100 milliliters fruit juice
  • 150 grams brown sugar
  • 1 rhubarb stalk (large)
  • 1/2 lemon juice (and zest)
  • 1 teaspoon lemongrass (fresh, chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 anise (star)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

    Directions

    1. Mix the sugar, plums, and red fruit juice in a medium-size saucepan over medium heat.
    2. Add the rhubarb in pieces, and remaining ingredients, bring to boil, stirring occasionally, until plums are tender.
    3. Grind mixture (optional), and pour in sterilized jars. Turn jars upside down for a few minutes to create a natural vacuum.
