Ingredients

  • 1 kilogram plums
  • 2 apples
  • 25 grams butter
  • 5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 40 grams raisins
  • 40 grams hazelnuts
  • 1 package pastry dough (frozen puff, thawed)
  • 1 egg yolk

Directions

  1. Wash the plums and cut in half, remove pits.
  2. Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter; add fruits and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly.
  4. Add sugar, vanilla extract, and raisins and keep cooking for about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Stir in hazelnuts and remove from the heat, let cool.
  6. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  7. Roll out the puff pastry dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Top with fruit, leaving a 1.5 cm space at the edges.
  9. Fold the edges over the fruit.
  10. Beat the egg yolk with a fork with 1 tablespoon of water.
  11. Glaze the dough with a brush and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  12. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.

My children helped me make this awesome recipe. The nice thing is that each person gets her own little pie! The fruit combination was awesome and I loved every bite.

Super delicious! I replaced the hazelnuts with two Tbs of cinnamon. I also added 3 Tbs of corn starch to the mix and 1 Tbs of butter on top (just like you would with a pie). It was amazing with the cinnamon added! Perfect served chilled or warm with ice cream and/or whipped cream.
