Ingredients

  • 2 pita breads
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 tablespoons refried beans
  • cheese (Sliced)
  • chipotle salsa

Directions

  1. Heat the pita bread until soft, cut into halves and with the pocket part opened.
  2. Spread the inside of the pita with the beans and fill with slices of ham and cheese. Drizzle with chipotle sauce.
  3. Close the pocket and place each pita into a hot skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Serve.

I made these with my Panini press and they are very good. I mix the beans, ham and salsa in a bowl together. I line the insides of my pita bread with the cheese slices, I use swiss and then I add the mixture to fill the pitas. It doesn’t take long to grill them and I offer ranch dressing to dip the sandwiches in because I always use spicy salsa. Delicious sandwich.
