I've never cooked with persimmon before and I am glad that I gave this recipe a try. It's very good, although I made a few tweaks based on my personal flavor preferences. I left out the raisins because I am not a raisin fan. I also didn't have cloves, so I didn't add those to the recipe either. I doubled the icing and poked holes in the top of the bars with the end of a wooden spoon prior to pouring the icing on top. I will definitely make these again.
