You can’t make a mistake with pears and ham. The meat is slightly salty, with hints of sweet from the agave nectar and pears. Parmesan cheese adds a mild flavor. Perfect for a quick dinner any day of the week. Preparation only takes 30 minutes. You’ll be sitting up to a hot meal in almost no time.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup (or honey)
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  • 3 pears
  • 12 slices parma ham
  • parmesan
  • basil leaves

Directions

  1. In a bowl mix the marinade ingredients (syrup, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and fresh thyme)
  2. Wash and dry pears, keep the skin.
  3. Finely chop pears with mandolin.
  4. Rub pear slices with the marinade and let them stand for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide the pear slices and ham between plates.
  6. Cut pieces of Parmesan, add basil leaves and a little thyme.
  7. You can add a spin of the pepper mill.

I love this recipe and the pears with the ham are magnificent. The thyme gives it great flavors and it all comes together nicely.
