Description

Cake flour creates a crumby foundation for this savory bread featuring ham, peas, soft cheese and fennel seeds, along with other flavor-bombs like Parmesan cheese. Ingredients

  • 160 grams cake flour
  • 60 grams flour
  • 8 grams yeast
  • 4 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • salt
  • ground black pepper
  • 100 grams soft cheese
  • 150 milliliters whole milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 100 grams cooked ham
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • slivered almonds

Directions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. 2Through a sieve, add the flours, parmesan cheese, yeast and pinches of salt, black pepper.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, mix the soft cheese with the milk.
  4. 4Add the egg and oil and beat for 2 minutes.
  5. 5Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix well.
  6. 6Add the ham and fennel seeds and mix well.
  7. 7Lightly oil and flour a cake pan. Add the batter and smooth the surface. Top with almonds.
  8. 8Cook for 50 minutes, cover with foil halfway through to prevent burning.
  9. 9Remove the cake from the oven and allow to cool on a cooling rack.
  10. 10Serve warm or at room temperature.
