Kids will get a kick out this whimsical way to prepare two of their favorite foods: pasta and hot dogs. You'll need a metal or wooden skewer to poke holes in the cut-up hot dogs, and a steady hand and perseverence to thread the spaghetti strands through those holes (it's actually fun to do and you can enlist the kids to help). Serve topped with your favorite tomato sauce and a drizzle of olive oil.

Ingredients

  • 2 hot dogs
  • 80 grams noodles
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • salt

Directions

  1. Cut the hot dogs into 3 pieces.
  2. Thread the spaghetti through the frankfurters.
  3. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and add the pasta. Cook until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain the pasta, season with oil and a pinch of salt.
  4. Serve with a small amount of seasoned tomato sauce.

This was a really unique recipe and a great way to spice up your typical hot dogs. It was a delicious dish and my kids really loved it. It was rich with flavor and covered up some of the hot dog taste. I will be making this 4 star recipe again in the future.
