This is an Italian dish that can be ready in just 35 minutes. The mixture of garlic, olives and cayenne pepper, add a spicy and savory taste to the dish. The peeled tomatoes add a nice color, while the chopped anchovies add a nice texture. This is a easy to make summer dinner dish.

Ingredients

  • 180 grams spaghetti
  • salt
  • olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove (sliced)
  • 6 anchovies (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • 10 olives (chopped)
  • 1 cayenne pepper (whole)
  • 5 tomatoes (; peeled, seedless, and crushed)

Directions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions in salted water.
  2. In a skillet with a little oil, saute the garlic and anchovies.
  3. When the anchovies start to melt like butter, add the capers and olives.
  4. Once everything is warmed through, add the cayenne pepper and the tomatoes and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Drain the pasta and serve topped with the puttanesca sauce.

I thought this dish was going to be too much for me to make; but decided to try it anyways. It was very doable and it tasted superb. It had lots of flavor and the pasta was not at all overcooked. A 5 star recipe I will enjoy making again.
