Description

This recipe offers colorful oranges with a zesty flavor, that is great for a quick dessert.. After using a melon baller to clear out the insides, batter is used to fill. After being baked the sponge cake emerges from the orange to compliment the zest with a sweet flavor.

Ingredients

150 grams cake flour
10 grams baking powder
30 grams cocoa powder
2 egg yolks
110 grams sugar
75 milliliters extra-virgin olive oil
90 milliliters whole milk
90 milliliters water
6 orange

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
2Mix the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder and sift. In a separate bowl, add the egg yolks, sugar, oil, milk, and water. Then add the flour, yeast and cocoa powder. Mix thoroughly.
3Cut a thin slice from the bottom of each orange to make sure each orange sits flat.
4Cut the top off of each orange and scoop out the flesh from each one using a spoon or melon baller.
5Fill 3/4 of the orange with the batter.
6To avoid dryness in the oranges, cover each one with aluminum foil, leaving a cap at the top to allow the batter to rise in the oven.
7Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Check for readiness by introducing a toothpick into the sponge cake. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready.
8To serve, cut into halves or use a spoon to dig into the orange.
