When straight orange juice just won't do -- say, when entertaining friends at brunch or for a non-alcoholic option at a holiday cocktail party. Fresh mint and pomegranate seeds are muddled with orange pieces in each glass, then topped with fresh orange juice and served with ice, if desired. But really, the drink is quick and easy enough to make for yourself as a morning refresher any day of the week.

  • 5 oranges
  • 1/2 pomegranate
  • mint leaves (to taste)
  • 4 ice cubes

  1. Juice 4 of the oranges and cut the remaining one into small pieces.
  2. Place the mint leaves in the bottom of 2 cups with the ice, chopped orange pieces, and the pomegranate segments. Mash them together a bit then add the freshly-squeezed orange juice. Serve immediately.
