Made with just 5 ingredients, this porridge is ready for breakfast in less than half an hour. Flavored with orange and cinnamon, this porridge also has the unique crunch of chopped hazelnuts. A breakfast that will last your little ones until lunchtime.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 tablespoons oats
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 6 chopped hazelnuts (coarsely)

Directions

  1. Heat a saucepan on low heat, add all the ingredients, but save a little orange zest, and 2 or 3 hazelnuts. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, for five minutes.
  2. Garnish with the remaining the chopped hazelnuts and orange zest.
  3. Serve hot or cold.

I've never really liked porridge just because I found it bland or dry. These recipe is neither. The orange zest and hazelnuts really brings out the flavor. The crunch of the hazelnuts really works with the creaminess of the porridge. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this. A quick and nutritious breakfast that will leave you feeling full throughout the day.
