  • 300 grams ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion (large, julienned)
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • mozzarella cheese (may substitute with other melting cheese)
  • 2 slices whole grain bread

    Directions

    1. Melt the butter in a hot skillet and saute the onion on low heat until slightly golden approximately 15 minutes. Stir constantly until completely golden brown and caramelized. Add the balsamic vinegar and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and set aside.
    2. Combine the beef with the paprika, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Form into two patties and cook on a grill or pan until cooked through.
    3. Place the cheese on top of the burgers in the skillet and let melt.
    4. Toast the bread. Place a burger on top of each slice of bread and top with the onions.
