- 3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 1/2 cups sugar (for cake)
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt (for cake)
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 cup sugar (for topping)
- 2 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 dash salt (for topping)
- 3/4 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spray a standard-size tube pan liberally with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Place the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to cream the ingredients together on medium-high speed until smooth, 1-2 minutes. Add the eggs, sour cream, and buttermilk, and continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 1 minute.
