- Cook the tomatoes in plenty of water.
- Separately, roast the chili.
- In a blender, add the tomatoes, 1/2 cup of water they were cooked in, the chili, onion, and salt and pepper to taste. Puree until smooth.
- Heat the oil in a saucepan and add the sauce. Bring to a boil and let it thicken for 5 minutes.
- Pour the sauce into a bowl. Add the avocado and the lettuce.
