The filling is the only complaint I have about this cake. I should have looked more closely at the photo provided before deciding to make it. The cake soaked up most of the pineapple filling. There was not enough between the layers to make me happy. I made the cake for my sister and she loved it. I would have preferred icing between the layers. I will make it again but next time I will poke holes in the cake and pour the filling over it and spread coconut icing between the layers. That may be more to my liking.
