Description

There's nothing spooky about these festive Halloween cupcakes, which incorporate cocoa and coconut into the batter, respectively, for depth and texture. Crowned with green, peppermint syrup-infused cream cheese frosting and orange-hued candies, they strike the right chord color-wise. Alhough the recipe calls for piping on frosting using the star attachment, you can simply spread frosting atop the cupcakes if you don't have a pastry bag on hand.

Ingredients

500 grams flour (multi-grain, mixture)
320 milliliters warm water

Directions

1Knead the flour and the water for at least 10 minutes until the dough is elastic, then let it rest covered for 30 minutes.
2With floured hands, shape the dough into a loaf or rolls and place them on a wax paper-lined baking sheet, or in a greased loaf pan.
3Let the dough rise in a warm area for 30 to 45 minutes.
4Preheat the oven to 210C.
5Dampen the surface of the dough with warm water and make some incisions with a knife.
6Bake for 10 minutes at 210C, then lower the oven temperature to 130C and bake for an additional 35 minutes.
7Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool.
