  • 1 pound beef chuck (or Beef Flank Thinly Sliced)
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • vegetable oil (for frying, about 1 cup)
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch (deluded in 2 tbsp of Water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions (large, sliced on the diagonal into one-inch lengths)

    Was delish!! Son and husband enjoyed it. Easy to make as well. Used 1/8 rice vinegar and it was just fine. Might try a tad of spice next time at sons request. Will make again for sure!

    Didn’t have green onions to go with and I didn’t use the optional ingredient either but it was delicious! Willing definitely be making again sometime soon

    Awesome i didnt have corn starch and my meat was marinated in sugar free teriyaki sauce cooked in cast iron skillet and sauce thickened by itself

    sauce was excellent!! flavor was great!! I added a tsp of ground chili powder for more spice and about a half cup of water at the end to create plenty of sauce for rice. beef was a little tough, might need a more tender cut of beef.

    It’s a really easy recipe. It was a little too salty so I just added extra brown sugar. Will definitely make again.

    this is a great simple recipe, everyone loved it. we left out the additional corn starch at the end and let the it simmer with the meat in it about 10 minutes. sauce was prrfec.

    Very tasty. i doubled the ingredients for the sauce and sprinkled some corn starch in to thicken, added aspargus too. next time id go.less hoison and add chili peppers of some sort and chili paste.

    I didn't like it. The flavours aren't balanced; it has too much rice vinegar. I won't be making it again.

    Oh my yum! Easy to make and delicious. Added a bit more sugar - like a tablespoon and used apple cidar vinegar. It was perfect. Thank you.

    Fast and yummy! I added snow peas for some green and extra crunch. The only reason this recipe doesn't rate 5 stars with me, is because the sauce was a little too sweet for my liking - though the hubs loved it. I do plan to make it again; next time with a little less of the brown sugar and a little extra kick! Thanks for posting!
