It's simple enough to make, but this mixed green salad is ideal for company, thanks to croutons that are actually skillet-browned cubes of cream cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
  • 8 ounces PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese (cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
  • 8 cups salad greens (loosely packed torn)
  • 1 Granny Smith apple (thinly sliced)
  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/2 cup KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Directions

  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in small bowl. Add cream cheese cubes in small batches; toss to evenly coat with crumb mixture.
  2. Heat large heavy nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on medium heat. Add cheese cubes, a few at a time; cook 3 min. or until evenly browned, turning frequently. Repeat with remaining cheese cubes.
  3. Combine remaining ingredients in large bowl; top with cheese.
