Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup chopped fresh mint (coarsely)
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 lipton cup size tea bags

Directions

  1. In small saucepan, bring water, sugar and mint to a boil. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool.
  2. Meanwhile, in teapot, pour boiling water over Lipton® Cup Size Tea Bags; cover and brew 5 minutes. Remove Tea Bags and squeeze; cool. To serve, strain mint syrup, then stir into brewed tea. Serve over crushed ice.

from past experience, i know 4 bags to 4 cups is too strong (and 3/4 cups of sugar is definitely too much) for me and mine. Sooooo, i just diluted it by doubling the amount of water. I also cut the ends off of a lemon, cut it in half, squeezed, and threw those bad boys (lemon halves) in there too. Me and mines were quite pleased!!! my thyme came with a mint stow away and has now hijacked my herbs. i'm looking to rid this weed by adding to good recipes such as the one above. cheers ya'll!
