Description

Rich and smooth from its focal ingredient, milk, this recipe calls for a blend of all-purpose, bread and wheat flours. The yeasted dough, which also includes butter, sugar and salt, is transferred to a bread maker to bake until it features a beautiful, burnished crust. Serve the bread with honey or butter and jam, or use it to make a bacon and cheddar sandwich. Although leftovers are unlikely, stale slices become stellar French toast.

Ingredients

  • 180 grams all-purpose flour
  • 80 grams bread flour
  • 115 grams wheat flour
  • 250 milliliters whole milk (room temperature)
  • 50 grams butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 5 grams yeast

Directions

  1. 1Sieve the flours together in a bowl.
  2. 2Add the milk, butter, sugar, salt, and yeast and mix well. Place the ingredients into the bread maker
  3. 3Set to Program 1 (3 hours), light crust.
  4. 4Remove the bread from the bread maker and allow to cool.
