Microwave Chocolate Cake

Put your microwave to use for more than just reheating leftovers. Here it's what you will be using to "bake" a chocolate cake, and it just might be a game changer for busy bakers who are usually too short on time to make a cake from scratch. You'll need a glass or other microwave-safe dish in which to cook the batter, and even a bowl will suffice. The cooking time will vary by model, but begin checking with a toothpick after abuot 5 minutes.

4 eggs
2 cups flour
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup cocoa powder
1 cup milk

1In a bowl, beat the eggs well with a whisk. Mix in the flour, vegetable oil, sugar, and cocoa powder with a wooden spoon. Add the hot milk. Stir.
2Pour the batter into a round glass baking dish that is 26 centimeters in diameter or into a plastic or silicone cake pan. Cook in the microwave for about 5 minutes on high power (this may take longer in older or low-wattage microwaves).
3Unmold into a deep dish. Decorate to taste.
