  • 1/2 cup raw unsalted cashews
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1/4 cup pitted dates (firmly packed, 4 dates)
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder (plus more to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon natural vanilla extract

    Directions

    1. To soak the cashews, either cover with filtered water for 2 hours or cover with boiling water for 10 minutes, drain, and discard the soaking liquid. Do not use the soaking liquid to make the drink.
    2. Throw all of the ingredients into your KitchenAid® blender in the order listed. Secure the lid, and blend on high for 5 minutes until piping hot.
    3. Alternatively, blend on high for about 60 seconds until smooth and creamy. Transfer the mixture to a small saucepan, and warm on medium-low heat for 2 to 3 minutes until hot.
