Made with white chocolate liqueur that's diluted with water, these grownup ice pops are dotted with chocolate chips for a textural surprise. Make these for a gathering as an alternative to cake, pie or a tart. However, do plan ahead, as the molds must be frozen 24 hours in advance of making the pops. Once you get the hang of these, it's time to get creative. Try combinations like Kahlua and white chocolate chips or tequila and lime zest.

Ingredients

  • 1 green bell pepper (seeded and cut into strips)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (seeded and cut into strips)
  • 1 red bell pepper (seeded and cut into strips)
  • extra-virgin olive oil
  • garlic powder
  • ground black pepper
  • white vinegar
  • sugar

Directions

  1. Heat the oven's broiler on high.
  2. Place the pepper strips on a lightly oiled baking sheet. Roast until the peppers are soft.
  3. Dice the peppers and place in a skillet with a tablespoon if oil, a pinch of salt and garlic powder, 2 drops of vinegar, and 1/2 tsp. sugar.
  4. Cook on a medium heat until the vinegar has evaporated completely.
  5. Serve warm sprinkled with black pepper.

These are actually broiled and sautéed peppers. Boiling the peppers brings out the sweetness and softens them. The sauté with oil, vinegar and sugar gives them a sweet and sour flavor, perfect as a side dish for sausage or chicken. Finish with a pinch of sea salt and freshly ground pepper.
