Description

Make way for a new rice favorite. The hardest part of making this dish is heating the coconut milk until it is hot, but not boiling. Mangos add color and a nice flavor that complements the rice.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams sticky rice (or Thai sweet, available in Asian groceries)
  • 130 milliliters coconut milk
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • salt
  • 2 mango
  • sesame seeds

Directions

  1. For this recipe to be successful, the rice must be soaked overnight in a bowl. It just needs to be covered by the water. On the next day, drain it and cook it.
  2. Put your rice into a microwave bowl, cover the rice with water.
  3. Cover and cook for 3 minutes in the microwave.
  4. Mix and cook covered for another 3 minutes.
  5. In a saucepan, gently heat the coconut milk, sugar, and 2 pinches of salt. Do not boil to avoid damaging the coconut milk.
  6. Pour 3/4 of the coconut milk over the hot rice, and wait for 5 minutes. The liquid will be absorbed by the rice and reinforce its "sticky" consistency.
  7. Cut the mango in chunks, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve with a glass containing the rest of the coconut milk.
