Description

These little bites are a delicious little dessert that is super easy to make. Buttery, flaky puff pastry is the base which is topped with sweet mango. A simple folding technique makes these pastries stunning to look at, while a sprinkling of crushed pistachios adds a nice color contrast to the orange mango. You can enjoy these as a dessert, or serve them at a cocktail party as a sweet appetizer.

Ingredients

4 puff pastry (individual, squares, cut out the squares from an already spread out puff pastry rolls, 15 cm. on each side)
1 mango (ripe)
brown sugar
1 egg yolks
1 tablespoon crushed pistachio (unsalted)

Directions

1Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
2Peel and cut the mango into cubes.
3Place the pastry squares on a baking pan. Sprinkle lightly with sugar.
4Place the mango cubes in the center of each square.
5Bring the tips of the square towards the center to cover the mango (leaving a space so that fruit is still visible). Glaze the pastry squares with the egg yolk diluted with 1 tablespoon of water.
6Sprinkle again with brown sugar and then pistachio.
7Bake for 15 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
