Ingredients

  • 500 grams plain flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 30 grams bakers yeast
  • 1.5 deciliters fat (milk)
  • 1/2 orange juice
  • zest (an orange)
  • brown sugar (to taste)
  • cinnamon (to taste)

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in a little warm water.
  2. In a bowl, place the flour and make a well in the middle.
  3. Pour yeast mixture into bowl with flour and mix well.
  4. Add eggs one by one, stirring well after each egg is added.
  5. Stir in milk, juice and orange zest. Beat well until small bubbles form.
  6. Cover with a damp towel and let rise in a warm place for about 90 minutes.
  7. Use two spoons to scoop small portions of dough and fry in plenty of hot oil.
  8. Place cooked fritters on paper towel to absorb excess oil and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
