Description

This macaroni and cheese dish features tender and flavorful shrimp for a surprising and delicious twist to the traditional dinner favorite. Ingredients

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
250 grams shrimp
50 grams butter
50 grams flour
500 milliliters milk
salt
ground black pepper
nutmeg
pasta
250 grams macaroni
cheddar cheese

Directions

1Preheat the oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
2Add the oil to a skillet on medium heat. Add the shrimp shells in the oil for a few minutes. Remove the shells from the oil.
3Add the butter to the oil and mix well.
4Add the flour and mix thoroughly, being careful to remove any lumps.
5Add the milk and cook for 5 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to taste. Add the shrimp and saute for 5 minutes.
6Cook the pasta in salted boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes until al dente. Drain and mix the pasta with the sauce.
7Place the pasta mixture into a baking dish. Top the pasta with grated cheese. Bake for five minutes or until the cheese is fully melted. Serve warm.
