  • 2 tablespoons Crisco Pure Canola Oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 24 ounces halibut fillets
  • Crisco Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs (dry fine)
  • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts (crushed)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil (minced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • oil (Wasabi)

    Directions

    1. COMBINE oil, ginger, garlic, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well. Place the fish fillets in a shallow dish. Pour oil mixture evenly over top. Let stand 30 to 60 minutes.
    2. HEAT oven to 375ºF. Lightly spray baking pan with no-stick spray.
    3. COMBINE bread crumbs, nuts, butter, basil and pepper in a shallow dish. Blend well with a fork. Place the fish fillets in prepared pan. Top each fillet with an even layer of bread crumb mixture.
    4. BAKE 10 to 15 minutes until done. Serve with wasabi oil, if desired.

    I used less bread crumbs 1/4 cup, and more macadamia nuts 3/4 cup, more Basil . I think more ginger in the marinade would be great too.

    went great with halibut. would probably use less breadcrumbs and more macadamia nuts next time
