Description

Cake flour creates a crumby foundation for this savory bread featuring ham, peas, soft cheese and fennel seeds, along with other flavor-bombs like Parmesan cheese. Before it's baked, the whole shebang is topped with slivered almonds, meaning there's crunch to contend with, too. A light meal in itself, the bread can be buttered or eaten out of hand simply as is.

Ingredients

450 grams penne pasta
200 grams butter (at room temperature)
2 egg yolks
1 lemon (strictly organic)
1 lemon
ground nutmeg
chili peppers (Ground)
grated parmesan cheese
salt

Directions

1Cream the butter with a fork, add the egg yolks and the lemon peel and continue stirring.
2Add the lemon juice, the nutmeg, a pinch of chili pepper, and a pinch of salt.
3Cook the pasta to ‘al dente’ in a stockpot of salted boiling water, drain the pasta and return it to the pan, add the butter mixture and the parmesan and stir.
4Serve with some chopped parsley on top.
