Have a bunch of leftovers in the refrigerator? Throw it all together in this savory cake reminiscent of cornbread. Can be served hot or cold as a side or as the main dish. Easily vegetarian with the omission of meat.

Ingredients

  • 70 grams olive oil
  • 3 grilled chops
  • 1/3 spicy sausage
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 5 eggs
  • 200 grams flour
  • salt

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Grease a pan with olive oil and sprinkle it with a little bit of flour.
  3. Clean the bone and fat off the chops.
  4. Cut the spicy sausage into thin slices.
  5. In a food processor, gring the onion, carrot, and garlic.
  6. Put the eggs into a bowl and beat them well, seasoning to taste with salt and a splash of olive oil.
  7. Slowly add the flour and once the dough is well mixed, stir inthe vegetables and meat.
  8. Place the dough in the greased pan and bake it for 30 to 35 minutes.
  9. Check to see that it is done and remove it from the oven.
  10. Serve hot or cold with a salad.

If you have leftover meat that you want to use up, or just want to make a unique meal, this is a really great recipe. I had some pork chops in the freezer and went out to buy some sausage to make with this. All of the other ingredients are stuff I always have on hand, so it was simple to make. Great taste with all the ingredients together. We love it hot for dinner.
