  • 2 quarts vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/3 cup toasted sesame seeds (plus more for garnish)
  • 1/3 cup coconut flakes (unsweetened)
  • kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 inch florets
  • 1 sweet soy sauce (recipe, or Sweet and Spicy Chili Sauce)
  • 5 scallions (Finely sliced)

Perfect! Could have used a table spoon less water though. I used a prepare sweet chili sauce from the store but the flavours of the batter were in perfect balance! 10/10 would make again

I made this on movie day with family and it was a hit! I used leftover roasted cauliflower and also fried some onion rings to go with. I'll use the batter for other things - very good-light and crispy.
