Indian-Style Meatballs


In a time crunch and looking for a quick meal? This Indian-style Meatballs recipe will be ready in a matter of minutes. Salty soy sauce is balanced by the super spicy Tabasco sauce and bitter ginger puree. Cornstarch helps thicken the blended sauce and helps it stick to the shrimp during the cooking process. Serve warm over a cup of white rice, Asian noodles, or in a bowl by themselves for a low carb option.


  • 300 grams sausage meat
  • 300 grams minced meat
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 onions

  • 2 tablespoons curry powder (hot Indian)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 sugar cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Madras curry powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander

  1. 1Mix all ingredients together except the bread crumbs and flour.
  2. 2Put in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  3. 3Make balls the size of a large walnut and roll them in a mix of breadcrumbs and flour.
  4. 4Cook them in hot oil.
  5. 5Set aside.
  6. 6Cook the rice in salted boiling water.
  7. 7Chop the onion and garlic.
  8. 8In a hot pan, add the olive oil and add the onion and garlic.
  9. 9Brown and then add the Madras curry and coriander.
  10. 10Add the crushed tomatoes and mix.
  11. 11Add the sugar
  12. 12Simmer on low heat.
  13. 13Add the rice and stir to combine.
  14. 14Serve the meatballs with the rice.
